You people are pathetic

You people are pathetic.

You use a lot of big words for having the brains of a small rodent (and I am talking about anyone who isn't a christian).

What is it like to go through life not knowing where your going, or whats going to happen.

The even sadder thing is, is that the bible says that you would say stupid things like on this web site.

I'm not going to explain anything to you, people didn't like Jesus to much, so you know they won't like christians.

People who are saying stuff like the things on this blog have only accomplished to further my pity for you.

I am so sorry for you, because I am full aware of whats going to happen to you. I'm so, so sorry....

Thanks for starting my Sunday out with a good laugh!!! The bible says we would say these things on a website?

Even if death is total obliteration of consciousness, I'm ok with that. I will need the rest. Life sucks and then you die. That's reality. It takes COURAGE to be well with that fact.

Belief in fictional deities is one of the root axioms that religions have built their awareness around, and for which a lot of their personal world view relies upon. If some were, for example, to realise that God is fiction then it changes their entire world. Many of their friends will reject them. They would not have a place in their church community anymore. They would have to endure the stigma that religions have put on atheism or secularism as something that is evil. Leaving religion is a very big step for most people who rely upon the comfort of their place in society, and are not willing to put their social position at risk.
What we are up against in fiction based religions is that using the name of God they can promise you anything. They have everlasting bliss in Heaven, omnipotent intervention, an inflated sense of self worth, a loving community, a sense of some grand purpose, and of course, burning in Hell forever for those who fail to believe.
One thing that religions understand is that they start brainwashing their children early because they understand that the earlier they establish mental patterns the harder it is to change them. Hence the rapid increase in Private "Christian" schooling that we see today in Australia. Conversion to fiction based religions is easier than facing reality . If a person is in an emotional crisis and someone comes along offering them a solution to their problems, they might just go for it. After all, it's so easy. All you have to do is believe and an omnipotent protector is going to intervene on your behalf and take care of you forever. What a deal! People want the quick fix. Reality often isn't a pretty picture. If they have lost someone they want to believe that they will be reunited with their lost loved one in some afterlife. They want to believe that when they die that they are going to go to a better place, or at least something other than ceasing to exist. They want to believe that their total existence is more than 75 years and then they are gone. So it's really easy for religions to create false hope, because there aren't any dead people out there who have come back from the supposed afterlife. I also find it amazing just how many people believe that the New Testament Jesus was a real person. Gulibility seems to be the name of the game.

It's amazing that so called christians are the ones that go out of there way to show us the love, charity and forgiveness of their god by calling everybody who dosn't believe as they do names and pointing out that thier all forgiving god will throw us in a lake of fire. You do realize that all the posts that you so called christians, ( and I do mean so called as most people I've met who are not religious have more sense and compasion than christians)are just convincing us even more that their is no god and christian who proclaim there is do not ACT as so called christian are supposed to act. I do not want to be envolved in any religion in which the majority are such Hipporcrites!

Hmmm. Let me see. I see: bad spelling, incorrect pronoun usage and punctuation, and a profound lack of the niceties of grammar and sentence structure. Yup. Certainly LOOKS like home schooling. I would also judge from seeing the extremely unsophisticated vocabulary in play, that you are a teen-ager of limited mental capabilities.
You poor excuse for a christian must be terrified of what you have been reading here - the joyful (and sometimes anguished) declarations of those with the brains and the guts to escape the prison of christian beliefs. And you think we are pathetic? Poor thing. Oh, and by the way, you are a very bad christian who is going to your hell, because you have been disobedient to your god.

Dammit! Let me correct the genius fundie's spelling and grammer errors:

"What is it like to go through life not knowing where your going, or whats going to happen."

It should be "where you're going"
and "what's"

"I'm not going to explain anything to you, people didn't like Jesus to much, so you know they won't like christians."

Should be "like Jesus too much"

Now for my response: Do you realize you are posting at a site full of EX-CHRISTIANS? We were once like you, brainwashed and on fire for the lie.
Thank you for your Christian love. Jesus would be proud if he were alive today (or ever).

Dear foul mouthed Christian,

Wake up moron, Jesus doesn't exist! Fact: People such as yourself who believe invisible people are real are typically suffering from delusions and/or hallucations that may be a symptom of serious mental disorder such as psychosis. And more often than not, people like yourself with these symptoms need to be taken out of the general population to prevent you from hurting yourself and family members.

Please, please, drive yourself to the nearest mental hospital asap and get help!!

I can see how you would find this website threatening or horrifying. To a person who believes in an invisible friend it must be a bit unsettling to find people who don't support your fantasy. And to a belief system that thrives on monopolising control and goodness it must be a bt threatening to find people who are happy and healthy without you.

That's becuase many of those who post their testimonies have similar experineces as we did. Hearing from "christians" who want to witness is much more fun... Because they can't back up their beliefs.

Well, thats nice of you Dave. But the fact is I see more hate mail from Christian to atheist, or christian to anyone else who dosn't believe as you do, then from anyone else. Its amazing how much hate I see in christians. I know its not all of them, but it sure seems like the majority of them. I don't mind xians. Pray to your god, whenever and where ever you like. We are not out to kill christmas or take away your freedom of religion. But the fact is that christians are trying to take away the freedom of religion for anyone else!. The war on christmas is christians wanting that time of year to them selves! No one else can celebrate their beliefs at that time. Is that fair to other religions? And if anyone belives diffrent their evil and in leage with the devil. Its your opinion! Nor mine. We just want the freedom not to have the christian OPINION shoved down our throut. And that, makes us evil. Does that make sence?
Please forgive my spelling. I wish there was spell check on this!

Anybody watch South Park? I agree with the writers' point of view. Only about 12 people will make it to heaven, and the rest of us will go to hell. At least we won't be alone there. Except in South Park, it's the Mormons who are the one, true religion, and no one wants to hang out with that boring crowd anyway so they'd rather be in hell with the masses.

David, I appreciate the sentiment that you just expressed, but... I'm not sure what it means when somebody apologizes on behalf of someone else. (About the only sense I can make of it is that you wish the person had not said what they said.) Also, I see need to ask that we judge people on their own merits. That's a given (or ought to be). Every group has its dregs. If we were to give every group the flush for having an obnoxious member, there would be nobody left here to engage in such scintillating dialog, now would there?

It’s getting a tad-bit old explain to these JesusZombies that we neither believe in their Christ, Satan or the anti-Christ. We are on our own – deal with it!

All I can say is: may your delusion serve you well in sedating the pain you experiencing from living in the real world – our world. I honestly hope for your sake that Jesus comes to fetch you soon, because I fear you are heading for a total breakdown. And I trust he will take the whole caboodle of Abrahamic religionists.

RE: Homeschooling

Dearest friends,

As your fellow deconverted freethinker, I respectfully submit for your review the notion that homeschooling should not be criticized as an assumed accoutrement of fundamentalist Christianity. I concede that a great percentage of homeschoolers is in fact composed of fundamentalists. However, I think it important to acknowledge that a good percentage is not.

I, for one, am a very diligent homeschooling father whose goal is a demanding education for my three children. The rigor to which I subject my children is, in my estimation, formidable. They are at liberty to progress at the velocity that suits them best, or remain on a subject for a little longer to ensure complete mastery.

In my mind the expression "no child left behind" effectively produces "every child is held back."

I believe the statistics demonstrate, year after year, that homeschooled children perform exceptionally when compared to their publicly or privately schooled peers.

You are all exceptionally educated and intelligent. My earnest hope is that you would consider homeschooling a legitimate educational option, and not impugn it undiscerningly merely because many fundamentalists are turning to it themselves.

At the very least, I imagine that you all would prefer to keep homeschooling legal in the sad event that fundamentalism establishes a terrible reign upon the nation (as is the stated goal of some groups such as "Christian Reconstructionists"). This freedom might be needed to protect all of our children from forced indoctrination by the state.

Respectfully submitted,

Salvatore

Oh my gosh, Salvatore,
You are absolutely right! It never occurred to me that in the event of the loss of our freedoms, that homeschooling might represent the bulwark of a defense against theocracy. I fired from the hip, so to speak, and I apologize, as I know many ARE successfully homeschooled, even though the vast majority are fundamentalists. I tarred everyone with the same brush, and that was inexcusable on my part.

While I agree with you that there is a lot of nonsense on this website, I am also saddened by the fact that you say you will not try to help these people understand. Yes, most of them will reject everything you and I try to tell them and they will ridicule us and they will say we are doing no good by posting what we do, but they can think what they want. We are soldiers pressing on for the cross of Jesus Christ and don't let them despair you. They will rationalize and debate about anything they can - they will do their best to discourage you. But no matter what they say or do, know that they cannot take away from what God has given you and me. No amount of negative posts can defile what He has done through His Son. Even now, as people reading this post are thinking or what snide comments to leave it, it matters not. Let them ridicule and chatter over frivolous things - The least we can do is try to help them understand God in a way that they haven't before. Don't give up hope Brother!

Deuteronomy 31:6
"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you."

Joshua 1:9
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."

1 Corinthians 16:13
Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong.

1 Peter 3:14
But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. "Do not fear what they fear ; do not be frightened."

Also Brother: Know that, while it may not seem like it and they will surely not admit it, your stand of faith WILL have an affect on unbelivers:
Acts 4:13
When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.

Hebrews 3:6
But Christ is faithful as a son over God's house. And we are his house, if we hold on to our courage and the hope of which we boast.

Isaiah 35:4
... say to those with fearful hearts, "Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you."

Isaiah 41:10
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Also, I used to use that tone during my Christian decades, citing verses relevant to my point. Now all I can think is: wow, scary.

You're right, that was barbaric enough without anyone's help.

Funny how Christians are filled with horror at the idea of people sacrificing children at Halloween (has that EVER happened?) but are filled with reverence when God does the exact same thing.

You said, "...Brother: know that...your...faith WILL have an effect on unbelievers."

Sorry to burst your bubble, but your "faith" WILL NOT have an effect on us, other than maybe making us puke for its phoniness.

Why don't you christians get it? We don't believe in christianity here! That is why this website exists! It is a meeting place for people who DON'T believe in your absurd religion!

You called him "brother." That is another thing that sickens me about your damn religion. You people see each other as "brothers and sisters" yet you see the rest of us as "damned, heathen, unsaved, wretches." Fuck you and your goddamn religion.
Anonymous said…
And I don't have the goddamned devil in my head, either.
Anonymous said…
And I'm not going to your damn christian hell, either. That christian idea of hell is so ridiculous I can't believe that intelligent people believe in such a place. It appears to me that christianity made that up to scare people into joining them, really. I once studied something that taught that the word hell originally was used to describe reincarnation and it made a lot more sense to me. I cannot believe in the christian hell. In order for the doctrine of salvation by grace to work, there must be a dark and cold place for "non-believers" to spend eternity, so one must believe that God created a horrible place of fiery damnation and throws those non-believers into said place forever. If not for the place of damnation for non-believers, there can be no place of eternal joy for "believers." If one goes to heaven forever for "accepting Jesus," then there must be an eternal fate for non-christians. For this reason, among others, I don't believe in christianity. I don't believe in the "damnation," why would I believe in the "salvation?"

Christianity having to scare people into joining them (also with talk of the "last day")is like someone having to tie a bone around their neck to get the dog to play with them!
Anonymous said…
Another problem with the christian hell is this: Everybody is born destined for hell, according to christian theology, because Adam and Eve ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, and because we are in a "fallen state" wherein we are naturally drawn toward the "pleasures of the flesh," having forgotten our "divine heritage," which is the only thing that will bring us true joy, and we suffer in misery in that "fallen state," then, when we die, God (who loves us) casts us into hell, because we're sinners (drawn toward the pleasures of the flesh) and descendants of original sinners, where we burn in suffering far worse than anything on earth for all eternity. For four thousand years God threw everybody into hell upon death where they remain to this day, apparently, until Jesus arrived to save us by dying a horrible death which satisfies God in exchange for our "sins" but only if we "accept Jesus" as our "Saviour," which means "walking with Jesus" and obeying the commandments, and praying in Jesus name, and "repenting of sin," and doing all the things the bible says to do, none of which "save" us, only "accepting Jesus" saves us from hell, we are saved for having once "accepted Jesus," and that's all, there is no more to "salvation," just "accept jesus," and forget the rest of the bible (which sounds more likely to cause us to wallow in our "sin," rather that rise above it as the bible instructs us to do)and you're saved! Go ahead and wank off! Commit adultery! Be a hypocrite! Lie! Cheat! Steal! Oh, what joy satan is having! The world is in disarray, out of harmony because the christian church won't teach the way of harmony and instead teaches some bullshit doctrine of salvation by grace and free ride to heaven on the blood of Jesus instead of how we can achieve peace on earth, which the bible actually teaches just like every other religion in the world (who cannot agree with every other religion because humankind fails to understand and follow the divine teachings of the prophets.)

Some christians believe those poor souls in hell will be given a chance to "accept Jesus" at the "last day." This means that God would throw them into hell for a few thousand years then yank them out and if they don't "accept Jesus," throw them into the lake of fire mentioned in revelations! Why anybody would believe in such nonsense is beyond me.

Christian theology is nonsense.

The difference between christians and ex-christians is this: Christians believe. Ex-christians THINK.

What a tangled web we weave, as the old saying goes. Christian theology is quite a tangled web...
Anonymous said…
Hey, anonymous! How does one correlate Matthew 23:13 with the doctrine of salvation by grace?

hahahahaha...
Anonymous said…
Peace on earth, according to the christian church, is satans plan of deception-satan will unite the world in harmony, not God!

It would make more sense to believe that God would WANT the world united in peace and harmony!

There are too many problems with christian theology.
Anonymous said…
Another problem-we can't believe in peace on earth (even though the church is supposedly trying to achieve that because God DOES want that) and must believe that after satan creates peace Jesus will return from out of the clouds all pissed off and cast all the heathen wretches who didn't "accept Jesus" (not what revelations says-that's the christian interpretation) into the lake of fire which burneth and tormenteth forever and ever and ever and ever etc. etc. etc....only a sick and twisted mind could believe such a thing, really.
Anonymous said…
According to christian theology, the only way for us to have "peace on earth" is for everybody in the world to "accept Jesus." This wouldn't work, however, since doing so seldom has any effect whatsoever on the person who does. Also, we would still have our "free will" as christians apparently do.

Another note-Christ is quoted to have said, "There shall appear among ye false teachers, even in my name," which could not possibly be if the doctrine of salvation by grace is truly "Gods word," assuming God exists. Anybody who "accepts Jesus," which would include all denominations of christianity including Mormonism and the JWs, should be sanctified in Christ and their word should be the word of God. This would also include the catholics, who are damned according to the christian church. How does this work? Who are the false teachers in the name of Christ? They are all saved, yet some are fake? What's the problem here? As I said earlier the bible is a tangled web of deception which, frankly, explains the many denominations of christianity.

Impacting Others:
"Isaiah 35:4
... say to those with fearful hearts, "Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you." "

Vengeance is an unenlightened concept.

This verse appeals to the lowest common denominator within all men, especially christians who have made themselves such martyrs that all they can hope for is to oneday achieve some kind of satisfaction against their 'persecutors'.

So yes anonymous, maybe love and higher intelligence can stop the war - if only the idea of 'vengeance' (or 'justice' as some prefer to call it) didn't have such a grip on humanity.

P.S. The phrase "Impacting Others" sounds like a line from the Joyce Meyer TV show, "Let Joyce impact your life on a regular basis..."
Well she does, but not by request.

I sent a question in to her website asking why god didn't set up a system of reincarnation so that his stated desire of ALL men being saved could one day be fulfilled, instead of the Hell system where most of them are tragically lost...

I got no reply, except for an uninvited subscription to her monthly magazine.

So yeah, she does impact my life on a regular basis.
At least it's free, though I did get an invoice charging me for $0.00 - it all revolves around money doesn't it...

Y'know, SpaceMonk, I find it amusing that our thoughts on christianity are being posted here on the web for the whole world to see. Long may they remain...

"Vengeance is an unenlightened concept." Well put.

I agree with you that if there were an afterlife a doctrine of reincarnation would be more sensible. God would certainly have common sense!

Yeesh. I wish christians would think instead of believe.

Some of the bible I might accept. some of it is nonsense. Overall, it's a screwed up mess.
