Brainwashing and Fraud

sent in by Deist

Here is a link that shows brainwashing in action. It shows a guy that went to hell and the sky dictator said "Why didn't you give them tracts" What pure BS. As George Carlin says "fleecing the flock, fraud in action"

I think religion is naive to think it has the know-it-alls about the forces of nature. It is nothing but a cop out for the unexplainable. Basically saying I don't know what causes it, so we'll tell the masses it is god that did it.

Humans have the strange ability to be rational and irrational at the same time. We are the only animals that are like that. Another chunk of evidence to prove that the Christian religion is B.S. is the goofy view it has on sexuality.

For some strange reason LUST is a sin but without lust how can you procreate? Lust is that urge to mate, how is that a sin? Now in civilized societies, it is bad to force someone into sex that I understand but with 2 consenting adults who are not married, who cares. I do believe in a higher non-personal non-judgmental power but not the silly sky dictator called Jehovah.

Bible god to me is a psychopathic, ruthless, insecure, peeping tom. I like my f&*king privacy. I don't like the idea of a deity watching me take a s**t!! As I said before I think there is a higher power but that’s it, doesn't go beyond that. I do not think humans have the ability to have knowledge of this higher power.

In order for me to believe in heaven, hell, Satan and bible god, I have to see evidence, no circular logic but that good ‘ol hard evidence. Out of the billions of people on this planet not one person can show me a picture or video of these imaginary places and monsters. I even tried to Google Satan and god and all were paintings but no photos (being sarcastic):)

I used to be a Christian until I read the bible. I had to step outside the box and say hey this makes no sense.

This B.S. no longer applies to intelligent people of the 21st century.

Over and Out

Thank you for a great site

Webmaster,

Thank you for a great site.

I'm not and never was a christian or a believer, although I have always been interested in the how's and why's behind people's beliefs.
I think supporting people who are losing their religion is a good thing; though some christians come on here not understanding what this site is about, it seems in their so called unconditional love they're not able to unconditionally support people who no longer think the same way.

Although I find some Ex-Christians comments here a bit harsh towards christians, I can see where they are coming from.
I find it interesting that Christians come on this site anonymously questioning the validity of this site, yet it seems perfectly fine to have a 'christianity rocks' site...to support it is fine,to question it seems to be wrong or unneeded and even objectionable or dare I say it, sinful.

Issues I've struggled with regarding religion in general is this:
-god is an all knowing, all seeing and forseeing omnipotent entity.
-he has created us and the earth, and we are created in his image.

How can I sin? How can god be dissapointed in me if he knows all and knows who I am, as he has created me. If he is all forseeing, then surely he would know what I am about to do, before I even know it myself. How can he be dissapointed in my actions?

It also seems he has rather dubious motives. How can he give an innocent grandmother throatcancer, yet grant say someone like Pol-Pot, muderer of millions, the gift to live peacefully till the end of his days?

It seems this all powerful deity, who has the abillity to create a complete world in a matter of days, is quite happy to dish out global disasters (apparently he is punishing us) but has no desire to stop them. When a loved one dies in a tsunami or flood, we hear people say that god in his infinite wisdom has taken them back to his fold and that it was probably his or her time.
We don't question the fact that this deity could have saved all of them, or that he was perhaps even the cause of the disaster in the first place.

But most interesting of all is that as a non believer, I don't get any signs. I don't get voices in my head talking to me, apart from my own voice. I don't speak in tongues, or 'feel' god or jesus in me. I find it remarkable that some Christians do get this; and you would think that since they are already believers, they would need that less if at all?
Surely myself, as someone who in a Christians eyes is a poor misguided soul that should repent for his sins and start believing, should get some sort of sign; a visitation, a feeling, anything, to startle me and make me wake up to smell the christian coffee?

So in my process of understanding I then turn it around. What if I was a deity and I decided to create earth and mankind (and a universe..for a long time we thought we were the center of the universe..it is only in the last few centuries that through science we have started to understand our own arrogance)..what would I create to make people believe?
Why not make it blindly obvious? Why all the conjecture, books written by third parties who claim to speak in my name? Why not have it come directly from the source? And I don't mean a son who looks human, by all accounts acts and is human and martyrs himself for humans.
Why not manifest myself..or put down a sign of some sort that is so far beyond what we can create that we cannot deny it? That is obvious to all..not just the people who believe in me; as there would be no necessity to believe or not to believe. It would be like gravity itself; hard to ignore when you're walking around on this earth. You can decide not to believe in gravity but there is no point as you cannot ignore it; it is so basic that belief about it doesn't even come into play.

So that's where I'm at. I see that people need structure and morality in their lives. There's plenty of that without religion. There was a time when it wasn't there and religion did a good job of teaching people common values. But to me it looks like something that has gone waaaay beyond what it ever needed to do.

I applaud the people who have come to this site and who are examining their beliefs, wether it is to lose it or to keep it.
Just examining it and asking questions means that you're thinking on your own..that is an important thing.

Thanks for reading my rant:)

My heart hurts for people like you

Hi There. I am so very worried about you . There is not much I can say to you that I am sure you have not heard. If you have heard Billy Graham you have heard one of the most amazing people in this world. I just hope your aware of how many people your influencing through this web site. To send yourself to hell is one thing but to be held accountable for so many other souls you should be terrified. Maybe your laughing but you won' t be when Jesus says I never knew you away from me.

My heart hurts for people like you I will pray for you even though you don' t want it and you better pray that you do come back with your tail between your legs because you don't want to experience hell.. You had it right the first time please carefully weigh out your consequences for being agnostic verses christian. Yours in christ.....

A Proposal to Christians

sent in by Tigg13

It has occurred to me, after reading several of the comments made by Christians on this website, that there is an issue that should concern you all more than the existence of ex-Christians.

Now, as you all know, there is one and only one true God and one and only one true path to salvation, with all the other paths leading to damnation. But, there are hundreds of different denominations of Christianity all calling themselves the one true church. Obviously there must be a great many of these churches that are not doing the Lord's work. But, if they're not doing the Lord's work, then who's work are they doing?

Why, Satan's of course.

Think about it. What would please the prince of deception more than to use God's own book to lead innocent people into the pit of eternal suffering? To twist and confuse scripture so as to trick people into choosing a false imitation of Christ. Just imagine how surprised these poor souls will be when they find themselves standing before God on the day of judgment, secure in their belief that their salvation is at hand, only to find out that all their doctrines were a sham and that they are doomed just like all the other non-believers. And, even worse, anyone who they may have converted to their false beliefs, their friends and families (who might have found the true Christ but for the false proselytizing that they were subjected to) will also be doomed.

Isn't this a much larger problem for true Christians than a bunch of Ex-Christians who freely admit that they consider the God of the Bible to be a cross between Daffy Duck and the Wizard of Oz? In fact, maybe the whole reason God created Ex-Christians was so that they could act as a beacon to shine the light of reason and logic upon these false prophets so that true Christians could see them for what they really are? I mean, who else could question these imposters' claims of "objective truth" and "moral superiority"?

I believe the time is ripe for all true believers to take action: to identify and eliminate all the false churches and their false doctrines and save the souls of the innocent followers that have been misled by them.

Now, I'm not suggesting that anyone do anything violent or illegal. There are plenty of civilized methods for dealing with this sort of thing. Like demonstrations, for example. Christians always seem to have the time and the energy to protest things like abortion clinics and funerals for gay people. Just start showing up at these false churches on Sunday mornings, padlock yourselves to their doors and start marching around with signs saying things like "Your God Is Satan", "His Kingdom Still Awaits You", and "Learn or Burn!". And then, calmly, with bullhorn in hand, explain to these deluded people that their religion is a lie and that they should let you show them the real Truth of God.

The key to all of this is identifying which Christian churches are false churches. To do this, you would first have to fully define what Christianity really is. Now I'd like to help you all with this, but I myself have never been able to figure out what Christianity is or what a true Christian looks like. Luckily, though, you don't need any help with this. You have God's word - the Holy Bible! I mean, that's the reason God gave you the the Bible, isn't it? So that you'd know his truth, right? So, just carefully go through the Bible (with the Holy Spirit's help, of course) and let it show you what a true Christian is and what they should believe. Then, just research all of the various denominations of Christianity there are in the world, and compare their doctrines to your divinely inspired definition and see which ones pass and which ones fail.

Once you have your lists of true and false religions, you're going to want to publish and circulate them amongst all of the good churches so that they will know who the true enemies of God really are. Then you all can begin the glorious work of cleansing the Body of Christ by ridding it of all the wrong thinking doctrines.

Oh, and when you have your definitions and lists, by all means, post them here. I'm sure we'd all like to have a look at them.
